Contract Caterer - Reducing Energy Charges - ESOS Assessment

With over 900 employees an ESOS assessment was required.  Detailed energy audits were completed by our ESOS lead assessor to assess Energy Savings steps Lefthow the fuel was being consumed by the company cars, vans and grey fleet.   Having quantified the energy consumed, a series of energy savings opportunities were proposed.

The ESOS assessment also required the energy used in the properties to be analysed, including a comprehensive on site energy survey. Many different ways to reduce energy consumption were identified, which will cut energy charges by around 45% a year.

All the details were summarised in the ESOS Report.  Having discussed the ESOS assessment and the energy savings opportunities in depth with the managing director, the online submission was then submitted to confirm compliance with the ESOS Scheme requirements.

This was the first time such a detailed energy study had been completed for the company, which proved to be a valuable and cost effective exercise with a clear plan of action for the company to follow, to help them secure their savings.

National Training Company - Cutting Overheads - ESOS Compliancebusiness performance

An Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme assessment was required, as the business employs considerably more than the 250 employee threshold. The company's main energy consumption is in the diesel and petrol used by their trainers' and managers' cars to drive to and from appointments.
 
A detailed energy assessment by our ESOS assessor revealed 30 different energy savings opportunities, which when implemented will cut the company's energy charges by £165,000 (US$ 205,000) a year.

Retail Group - Big Savings - ESOS Audits

Fenn Utilities ESOS SchemeAn Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) assessment was required for this retail company, with stores located across the UK. 
 
Our ESOS lead assessor collated a year's energy data, identified the major energy uses and completed energy audits on a number of sample stores.

We identified energy savings of £140,000 (US$ 175,000) a year for lighting, heating, insulation and daily staff working practices. The investment required, to upgrade some equipment, will be quickly repaid in 1.3 years.
 
An audit of their energy tariffs revealed further savings of £60,000 (US$ 75,000) a year could be made to cut their energy charges, bringing their total savings opportunities to £200,000 (US$ 250,000) a year.

The manufacturing operation has needed our services to reduce overheads by keeping their energy charges as low as possible and improving the monitoring and measurement of their energy consumption. 
 
As well as managing their energy contract renewals we also check all their electricity and gas invoices, deal with property disposals and ensure their energy readings are updated each month.

Bowling Alley Chain - Consolidating and Negotiating Savings

By managing their invoices on a day to day basis we also introduced order and clarity to their purchase accounts.

National Retail Chain - Recovering Over Payments

We first started working for the group to resolve some serious historical electricity billing problems for their 300+ shops, which resulted in our recovering around £900,000 (US$ 1,122,000) in over payments.

We negotiated a new group electricity contract on favourable terms, which provided further savings, and agreed to provide the administration to look after all of their future electricity invoices.

Public Water Supply Company - Solving Problems

We were asked to help this public utility company as they were experiencing major problems with an electricity supplier. The supplier had previously agreed a group contract for the majority of their 220+ pumping stations, offices, etc but had then failed to issue hundreds of invoices, which meant a very large debt had built up that nobody could quantify. We arranged a new electricity group contract at competitive rates with an alternative supplier, which both saved the customer money and allowed the old accounts to be finalised.

We then worked through each site individually to retrospectively calculate the charges over the last few years and negotiated a much reduced settlement with the previous electricity supplier, which saved our client a further substantial sum.

Local Authority City Council - Management Systems and Cutting Costs

We consolidated their various accounts, obtained quotations and negotiated new electricity and gas contracts for the council's public swimming pools, football stadiums, public parks and nurseries, waste disposal sites, sports centres, tennis courts and offices.
