New Cross Channel Electricity Cable

The first new cross channel electricity cable for 25 years has been opened.

The £530m cable runs between the Isle of Grain, in Kent, and the Netherlands to connect the UK and European grids. The new link will help surplus wind farm generated electricity to be shared and increase the integration of electricity supplies across the region.
